Energy-Efficient Ductless Mini Splits
Pasadena homeowners often ask us how a ductless mini-split system differs from a conventional air conditioner. A conventional air conditioning system uses a central outdoor unit and an indoor unit that pushes the cool air through a home’s ducts.
If your home doesn’t have ducts, then a central air system may not work for you. A ductless mini-split system may be the perfect solution for your home.
Ductless mini-split systems use an outdoor compressor unit and at least one indoor air handler unit to distribute cool air. Refrigerant lines and a conduit connect the two units. As the name suggests, a ductless mini split doesn’t need ductwork to circulate air through your home. If you need to cool different parts of your home, you can add several indoor air handlers.
